Join our new Summer Intensive Program in Tangier and accelerate your Arabic learning through immersive classes, cultural activities, and real-life experiences. Just like our program in Meknes, programs range from 4 to 8 weeks with small class sizes for maximum engagement.

Personalized & Intensive Instruction

When you study Arabic in Morocco at AALIM, you can be sure you’re getting the most out of your class time. Summer Arabic classes are limited to eight students per section to maximize student engagement. Exact class size depends on enrollment as well as placement tests. The number of hours each class meets per week may additionally fluctuate with the size of the class, with more intensive and larger classes meeting 4 hours daily for a total of 80+ contact hours with a language instructor per session. One-on-one intensive instruction generally meets for two hours daily.

Alternatively, if these dates don’t fit your schedule or if you’d like to cover several semesters of content, have additional language learning goals in mind, or want extra time to explore Morocco, you can customize the length of your summer study. No matter when you begin, you’ll start off with orientation, a placement test, then get settled with your homestay family and join your group class.

THE PROGRAM PRICE ABOVE INCLUDES:

    • Orientation session
    • Placement exam 
    • Academic Program
      • 4 hours of MSA classes per day,
      • 3 hours of colloquial Arabic weekly (optional)
    • Teaching assistant outside of classroom hours
    • 3 hours per week of language partner conversation
    • Cultural activities each week: lectures, music performances, calligraphy workshop, Arabic movies, cooking classes (specific activities vary annually and from program to program)
    • Lodging, double occupancy in Moroccan host families
      • Single rooms available for additional payment
    • 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner)
      • AALIM works to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies in your homestay
    • 1 daytime excursion within Tangier
    • Official transcript and certificate of study
    • Farewell party

Not included

Airfare to and from Morocco; transportation within Morocco; textbooks; 3rd daily meal; personal expenses; medical expenses. Some of these services are available at a supplementary cost (see FAQs).

Please Note 

Orientation will be the day prior to the start of the program. Please plan to arrive in-country at least 1-2 days ahead of your planned start date. We recommend consulting with AALIM staff as you make travel arrangements. Housing will be provided for the night prior to the start of the academic program.
