Internships and Volunteer Opportunities

During your study with AALIM, you can personalize your program by adding an internship or volunteer activity. Short and long-term commitments are possible. The choice of internship depends on your interest, your language level, and the availability of the internship partner. Some students receive credit from their home institution for participating in the internship program. We work with internship partners in the following fields:

  • Legal offices
  • Private schools, working with children ages 6-12
  • Influential libraries, including cataloguing and preservation
  • Music schools, including the preservation of the endangered Elmalhone music
  • Carpentry, such as the traditional art of decorating and engraving wood
  • Private projects in rural areas that work to reduce poverty
  • Document translation for legal offices, libraries and traditional arts associations
  • Press/journalism
  • Investing in Morocco, including project finance
  • Women's co-op for distilling herbs
  • Economic development and human rights for women (associated with Amnesty International), including literacy issues
  • Theater
  • Training for vulnerable groups to learn computer skills, investing, etc.
  • Cultural center made up of 30 member associations
  • Public oven to make/sell bread and sweets
